Peddannayya Story

The film opens with Ramakrishna Prasad, the revered patriarch of a vast joint family, locked in a bitter feud with his former friend turned foe, Bhaskar Rayudu, a ruthless power broker. Ramakrishna lives only for his three cousins—Sai Prasad, Durga Prasad, and Bhavani Prasad—and their mother, who worship him like a deity. For fifteen long years, the spirited Seeta Mahalakshmi has waited patiently to marry Ramakrishna, honoring his vow to remain unmarried until his brothers are settled.

Bhavani, the mischievous medico, bickers with his colleague Sravani but eventually falls in love, only to discover her painful past. In a bid to protect her, he secretly marries her, provoking family strife fueled by Bhaskar Rayudu and his cunning ally, Advocate Chenchuramaiah. Meanwhile, Durga falls for Neelaveni, Chenchuramaiah’s vain daughter, and is nearly ensnared in a conspiracy. Ramakrishna’s righteous nature, however, shields his brothers time and again—repaying Bhaskar’s scams, guiding them away from disgrace, and even bearing their accusations with patience.

But the past haunts him. Years ago, Bhaskar’s brother Ravindra betrayed Ramakrishna’s sister Parvati, driving her to suicide. In a fit of rage, Ramakrishna killed Ravindra, a decision that cost him dearly. Since then, he has raised his uncle’s orphaned children, dedicating his life to preserving the family’s honor.

When Bhaskar Rayudu falsely implicates Bhavani in embezzlement, Ramakrishna sacrifices his own wealth to protect him—only to be cast out by the very brothers he saved. Their mother finally reveals his sacrifices, and guilt reconciles the family. Bhavani and Sravani return, on the condition that Ramakrishna marries Seeta. But tragedy strikes—Bhaskar Rayudu and Chenchuramaiah strangle Seeta, staging it as suicide, and frame Ramakrishna.

In a heart-wrenching moment, Ramakrishna ties the mangalasutram to Seeta’s lifeless body, fulfilling her vow. As he is taken away by the police, Bhaskar Rayudu betrays his own allies, leading to bloodshed. Before dying, Chenchuramaiah confesses the truth, exposing Bhaskar’s treachery. In the climactic showdown, Ramakrishna and Bhavani annihilate the villains. Gravely wounded, Ramakrishna walks into Seeta’s funeral pyre, choosing to unite with her in death.
