President Gari Abbai Story

The film begins in a village where President Chandraiah, a paragon of nobility, has held the post for 25 years and is respected for maintaining peace and harmony. He enjoys a joyful household with his devoted wife Anasuya, three sons—Sivaram, Prasad, and Ramakrishna—two daughters-in-law, Kamala and Satya, his daughter Poorna, and his beloved grandson Gopi. Of them, Gopi is especially dear to both Chandraiah and Ramakrishna, sharing a strong bond with the latter. In contrast, Suraiah, Chandraiah’s spiteful relative and father-in-law to Prasad through his daughter Satya, constantly opposes him and wreaks havoc in the village. Ramakrishna, the spirited younger son, often engages in daring feats that irritate his father but also make him the one to confront villainy. Meanwhile, Suraiah spreads terror under the guise of demons haunting the outskirts. His younger daughter, Latha, returns to continue her studies, and after several quarrels, she and Ramakrishna fall in love. Around this time, Delhi Babai, an opportunist ally of Suraiah, conspires against Chandraiah, dethroning him. But Chandraiah clears his name, contests again, and regains victory, further provoking Suraiah’s vengeance.

Chandraiah arranges a good alliance for Poorna, but disaster strikes when Suraiah’s son, Papa Rao, attempts to molest her. Ramakrishna saves her with Latha’s help and kills Papa Rao in the scuffle. Exploiting this, Suraiah frames Ramakrishna for murder and defames Poorna’s honor. To protect his sister’s dignity, Ramakrishna remains silent in court until Latha reveals the truth, acquitting him. Still, Poorna’s husband Venu and his family abandon her, and even her sisters-in-law make her life unbearable, causing a rift that splits Chandraiah’s household. Forced to leave, Chandraiah grieves most over losing Gopi’s company. Meanwhile, Suraiah schemes to marry Latha off to Govindaiah’s brother Raja, but Ramakrishna foils the plan and weds her instead. Determined to restore Poorna’s honor, Ramakrishna appeals to Venu, only for Suraiah and Delhi Babai to plot his death by issuing a public challenge with a bounty of two lakhs. Ramakrishna accepts, staying a night in the so-called haunted outskirts, proving the superstitions false. Tragically, during the chaos, Gopi is killed by the villains. Heartbroken, Chandraiah commands Ramakrishna to destroy the enemies once and for all. In the climax, Ramakrishna defeats the villains, Suraiah’s schemes collapse, and Venu repents and takes Poorna back. The film ends on a happy note with the reunion of Chandraiah’s family.
