Story
The film begins with Kanthamma, a shrew running a small-scale hotel, who torments her stepchildren Vasu and his three sisters, Sangeeta, Sarala, and Saraswati. Vasu revolts against Kanthamma and quits the house. Years roll by, and Kanthamma goes bankrupt as a charming rival, Srikakulam Chittamma, entices her customers. Meanwhile, an energetic Abbulu joins as an employee at Kanthamma’s hotel and revives her business. The three sisters notice their childhood photograph with him, and he affirms himself as Vaasu but asks them to remain silent since their aunt might drive him away again. Abbulu now aims to perform the wedding of Sangeeta, educate Sarala, and restore paralyzed Saraswati. He strives to accumulate money and cleverly handles Kanthamma. Consequently, Abbulu squabbles with Chittamma, which leads him into conflict with the sons of savage amputee factionist Veera Raghava Reddy. Abbulu gets them seized by the police, startling even the Superintendent of Police, who bows before him. Enraged, Veera Raghava Reddy summons his daughter Anjali from abroad, who vows vengeance. Meanwhile, Aakula Bandabbai’s siblings tease Sangeeta, but Abbulu thrashes them. Angered, Bandabbai tries to forcibly marry her to his brother with Kanthamma’s consent. At the same time, Abbulu cures Saraswati and saves Sangeeta, then declares himself Vaasu. As a shock, Anjali arrives, proclaiming him as the killer of Vaasu named Samarasimha Reddy. The three sisters loathe him, and Anjali’s men assault him, but he bears it patiently. Sheltered by Chittamma, Abbulu/Vaasu/Samarasimha Reddy reveals his story. When his sisters stop him from performing Vaasu’s last rites, Anjali manipulates events, forcing him to drink poison. Simultaneously, Bandabbai’s gang attacks, but Samarasimha Reddy awakens and defeats them. He is hospitalized, where the SP reveals his true greatness and narrates the past.
Samarasimha Reddy is the roaring lion of Rayalaseema, son of the powerful factionist Narasimha Reddy. After leaving home, he raised Vaasu as his younger brother. Veera Raghava Reddy was their fierce rival. Once, Samarasimha Reddy triumphed over him, amputating him as punishment but sparing his life. Tragically, in that battle, Vaasu was accidentally stabbed and died in Samarasimha Reddy’s arms, asking him to protect his sisters. Since then, Samarasimha Reddy has supported them with his hard earnings. Learning this truth, everyone, including Anjali, understands his virtue. Guided by Chittamma, Anjali agrees to marry Samarasimha Reddy. Though her brothers oppose, Veera Raghava Reddy intervenes and himself brings the proposal. Initially reluctant, Samarasimha Reddy accepts at everyone’s request to restore peace. Soon after the wedding, Veera Raghava Reddy disowns Anjali as the enemy’s wife, but Samarasimha protects her. His righteousness reforms the entire region, including Veera Raghava Reddy’s sons. Unable to bear his rival’s glory, Veera Raghava Reddy commits suicide. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note.
