Sri Rama Pattabhishekam Story
In Ayodhya, Emperor Dasaratha plans to crown Rama, but due to Kaikeyi’s boons and Manthara’s scheming, Rama is exiled for 14 years while Bharata is made heir. Bound by dharma, Rama leaves with Sita and Lakshmana, while Dasaratha dies in grief. Realizing the truth, Kaikeyi repents, and Bharata seeks Rama’s return, but Rama insists on honoring his father’s word, giving Bharata his sandals to symbolize rightful rule. During exile, in Panchavati, Shurpanakha’s insult leads Ravana to abduct Sita with Maricha’s help. Rama and Lakshmana, guided by Jatayu’s sacrifice and Shabari’s counsel, ally with Sugriva and Hanuman. Rama defeats Vaali, Hanuman discovers Sita in Lanka, and after burning the city, returns with proof of her captivity.
With the Vanaras’ aid, Rama builds the bridge to Lanka. Vibhishana joins him after Ravana rejects peace. Rama even honors Ravana as a learned Brahmin to perform a ritual before battle. In the war, Rama slays Kumbhakarna, Lakshmana kills Indrajit with Hanuman’s help, and finally Rama defeats Ravana with Vibhishana’s guidance. Reunited, Rama asks Sita to prove her chastity in the Agni Pariksha, which she passes unscathed, restoring her honor. The epic concludes with Rama’s triumphant return to Ayodhya and his pattabhishekam (coronation), symbolizing the victory of dharma.
