Srirama Rajyam Story
The film begins with Rama’s triumphant return to Ayodhya after slaying Ravana and rescuing Sita. Crowned emperor, Rama rules in harmony, until whispers from his spies suggest that his reputation may be tainted by Sita’s long stay in Lanka. To preserve dharma, Rama reluctantly orders Lakshmana to banish Sita in the forests near Munipalli. There, Valmiki shelters the abandoned and pregnant Sita, giving her refuge under the name Lokapavni. She gives birth to twin sons, Lava and Kusha, while Hanuman, disguised as a tribal child, continues to serve her loyally. Under Valmiki’s guidance, the boys grow into masters of scripture, warfare, and wisdom.
Years later, Lava and Kusha journey to Ayodhya, ravaged by famine, to bless the people with recitations of the Ramayana. However, they grow bitter upon learning of Sita’s exile and refuse to sing of Rama’s glory, causing Sita immense grief until they reconcile. Meanwhile, sage Vashistha instructs Rama to perform the Ashvamedha Yagna for the kingdom’s prosperity. With Sita absent, the ritual seems impossible, but Vashistha declares it valid through Sita’s golden effigy, funded by the people as atonement. At the same time, Valmiki reassures a distressed Sita by revealing Rama’s eternal love, embodied in the golden idol, and reminds her that the essence of Rama’s avatar is fidelity—one word, one arrow, one wife.
As the yagna begins, Rama’s horse wanders into Valmiki’s ashram, where Lava and Kusha boldly capture it. They repel Ayodhya’s armies, even defeating Lakshmana. Finally, Rama himself arrives, clashing unknowingly with his own sons. Alarmed, Hanuman races to Sita and reveals the truth of the impending tragedy. Sita halts the battle and declares Lava and Kusha as Rama’s heirs. Though urged to return as queen, Sita refuses and chooses instead to merge back into her mother, Bhudevi. Overcome, Rama and his brothers crown Lava and Kusha as rulers before renouncing their thrones. The saga concludes with Rama and Sita transcending into their eternal forms—Vishnu and Lakshmi—at Vaikuntha, ending the tale on a divine note.
