Bachi Story

Bachi (2000), starring Jagapathi Babu and directed by Puri Jagannadh, revolves around Bhaskar Chenmai, popularly known as Bachi, who works in the Special Branch police. He falls in love with Venkata Lakshmi, but their relationship is disturbed when a young boy named Habibi unexpectedly arrives from Dubai, claiming that Bachi is his father. The boy’s mother, Parvati, has told him so, leaving Bachi shocked and desperate to get rid of the child. At the same time, Bachi is assigned to protect Tatineni Koteswara Rao, a man who suddenly wins ₹50 crore in the Paris lottery, making him the target of criminals and opportunists. While handling his duty as chief security officer and managing the chaos caused by Habibi’s presence, Bachi gradually develops a bond with the boy, though Lakshmi is initially upset by the situation.

As events unfold, it is revealed that the lottery win itself is part of a larger scam and that several powerful men, including Satyambabu, are involved in the conspiracy. Parvati’s real identity comes to light—she is none other than Lakshmi’s sister, and the truth emerges that Habibi is actually Rao’s son, not Bachi’s. In the climax, Rao disguises himself and tries to flee, even using Habibi as a shield, but Bachi confronts him and exposes the truth. Realizing his mistakes, Rao surrenders and requests that Bachi raise Habibi as his own. The film concludes on a heartwarming note, with Bachi marrying Venkata Lakshmi and embracing Habibi as his son, bringing resolution to the conflicts and tying together themes of love, deception, and unexpected parenthood.
