Jagannatakam Story
The film begins with a family that lives festively: Balakotaiah and Manikyamma, a couple with four daughters—Sarada, Neela, Madhavi, and Jhansi. Jagam, an orphan nurtured by Manikyamma, serves as a valet and has loved Neela since childhood, as Manikyamma had betrothed him. Sarada suffers domestic violence from her husband, Inspector Krishna Rao, and even faces a miscarriage. Enraged, Manikyamma brings her back, toughens her up, and confronts her son-in-law. Meanwhile, Chakravarthy, Neela’s classmate, tries to rag her, but Manikyamma slaps him publicly. In parallel, Madhavi falls in love with a cheerful young man, Prabhakar, and their elders approve. Neela’s alliance is also arranged with a well-educated man, which troubles Jagam. Exploiting this, Chakravarthy provokes Jagam, who disrupts the ceremony, leading to the cancellation of the weddings.
Later, Jagam secretly marries Neela while she is asleep, and Prabhakar also weds Madhavi without his parents’ consent. Neela, however, rejects Jagam and constantly humiliates him, which he endures with patience. Meanwhile, Chakravarthy conspires with his friend Kishore to trap Jhansi. Learning this, Balakotaiah arranges her marriage, but Kishore attempts to molest her. In the resulting clash, Balakotaiah kills Chakravarthy and is imprisoned. In the end, Jagam struggles to support the family, secures Balakotaiah’s release, and proves his virtue. Realizing his goodness, Neela finally accepts him, and the movie concludes on a happy note.
