Siva Rama Raju Story
The film begins in a village where three siblings—Sivaramaraju, Rama Raju, and Raju—belong to a royal family and share a strong bond. They dote on their younger sister Swati and prepare for her happiness, promising that all three brothers will marry in her presence. Swati arranges a match for Sivaramaraju with a kind-hearted Rajeswari.
Every year, their clan decorates the village goddess with garlands and dances at the temple. During one such festival, Nagendra Varma Zamindar and his son Aakash from a neighboring town arrive to offer gold. A clash occurs between Ramaraju and Aakash, prompting Aakash to schematically marry Swati and demand the family’s wealth, which they reluctantly give up. The family relocates to a small cottage and takes up farming. Swati restricts her brothers’ visits to protect them from dishonor.
Meanwhile, Rajeswari’s father cancels the alliance, causing Sivaramaraju to face financial troubles. However, Rajeswari defies her father and marries Sivaramaraju at Swati’s house. Ramaraju marries his cousin Janaki, and Sivaramaraju ensures the marriage occurs before Swati’s wedding. Janaki initially creates conflict in the family but later realizes her mistakes.
Raju falls in love with his college mate Rani, the daughter of an MP. When Rani’s brother Madan attacks Raju, Sivaramaraju retaliates. The MP comes to confront the family but is reminded of the past: twenty-five years ago, Sivaramaraju’s father, Ananda Bhupathi Raju, an esteemed arbiter, had protected the MP’s subordinate and upheld justice, leaving a lasting impression. Realizing this, the MP withdraws his opposition and accepts Raju and Rani’s marriage.
During Swati’s wedding, Aakash tries to torment her. Sivaramaraju intervenes, but miscreants attack, threatening Swati. Enraged, Swati removes her wedding chain (Mangalasutram) and leaves with her brothers. Later, she gives birth to a baby boy. Aakash and Nagendra Varma reform and apologize.
The movie ends happily with the reunion of the family.
