Subhakankshalu Story
The film begins in a village where fierce rivalry exists between two neighboring Hindu and Christian families. Seetaramaiah and Stephen, the heads of the clans, have carried on this feud for decades, which also involves their wives and sons, Balaramaiah and Moses. Years ago, however, the families were close, until Seetaramaiah’s daughter Janaki and Stephen’s younger brother Robert fell in love, eloped, and married, leaving bitterness between the households. In the present, Chandu, the son of Robert and Janaki, arrives with his friend Gopi, only to be rejected by both families. With nowhere to go, they trick noisy singer Nadabrahmam into sheltering them. Chandu, determined to reunite his broken family, slowly earns their affection. When his grandmothers try to arrange marriages for him, he claims he is already wed to a Hindu-Christian girl named Nirmala Mary. To his shock, a young woman by that very name appears, teasing him until she reveals her true identity: Priyadarshini, the real daughter of Robert and Janaki, who knows the truth about Chandu’s background.
Meanwhile, Chandu and Gopi, both orphans, stay in a penthouse next to a women’s hostel where Balaramaiah’s daughter Nandini lives. Chandu secretly helps Nandini and her friends win a music competition, leading to their friendship and his growing affection for her. But his hopes are dashed when Nandini reveals her engagement to Lawrence, Moses’s son. Determined to bring happiness to the lovers, Chandu resolves to unite the feuding families. Priyadarshini admires his selflessness and falls in love with him. Despite conflicts, comic interludes, and violent flare-ups between the elders, Chandu eventually reconciles the two households, paving the way for Nandini and Lawrence’s marriage. When Robert and Janaki return, Chandu’s true identity is revealed, and the families propose his marriage to Priyadarshini. However, he declines, saying he still cherishes the memory of the girl he once loved, who has since married someone else. The film ends with Chandu walking away, leaving a poignant message that his greatest honor is ensuring his beloved’s marriage to her true love.
