Amarajeevi Story

Dr. Murali, a well-renowned eye specialist, harbors hatred toward women as he was once victimized by a girl named Savitri. Suddenly, a young lady, Lalitha, enters his life, and he deeply falls for her. To his dismay, Lalitha later presents her wedding card, announcing her marriage to a wise man, Madhu, and reveals herself as Savitri’s elder sister, who deceived Murali to avenge her sibling. Soon after, Murali rescues his old classmate Shekar’s son from losing eyesight, where Shekar ruefully reveals the truth: Murali and Savitri were sincere lovers, but Shekar, who coveted Savitri, created a rift between them, leading to her tragic death. Shekar confesses his sin before Lalitha, who decides to stop her marriage. However, fate reveals Madhu as Murali’s close friend, and Murali convinces Lalitha to marry him.

Soon after, Madhu notices the closeness between Murali and Lalitha, grows suspicious, and turmoil arises in their marital life. In this plight, Madhu loses his eyesight in an accident, and Murali selflessly donates his own eyes to save him, further aggravating Madhu’s suspicion and causing him to drive Lalitha away. Mentally shattered, Lalitha turns to Murali, who pleads with Madhu, but he refuses to listen. Later, learning the truth from Shekar, Madhu repents and rushes back. By then, Murali has consumed poison. In his final moments, he forgives Madhu, entrusts Lalitha to him, and breathes his last in Lalitha’s lap.
