Sri Ramadasu Story
The film begins in Kali Yuga with Sage Bhadra performing penance, leading to the emergence of Vishnu as Rama. Centuries later, in Nelakondapalli, Kancherla Gopanna falls in love with his cousin Kamala. Despite opposition from her father, he marries her with the support of ministers Madanna and Akkanna and earns a position in the Golkonda Empire as Tehsildar of Bhadrachalam. Gopanna foils local criminals, becomes devoted to Lord Rama, and vows to construct a temple. Guided by the saint Kabirdas, he gathers resources, relinquishes luxuries, and, with Kamala’s support, completes the temple, earning divine blessings and naming their son Raghunatha.
However, Gopanna is falsely accused of misusing government funds and imprisoned. Despite his devotion, Rama does not immediately intervene, and Gopanna suffers greatly. Through Kabirdas’s wisdom, the truth reaches Tanisha, the ruler, who eventually acquits him. Overcome with emotion, Gopanna returns to Bhadrachalam and requests a boon from Rama to make his soul immortal at the temple. The Lord grants it, and the film concludes with Ramadasu’s soul eternally blessing the devotees visiting the temple, honoring his unwavering devotion and sacrifice.
