Manushulu Mamathalu Story
Zamindar Raja Rao dotes on his only daughter, Radha. During a Godavari flood, he shelters Venu and his mother Kanakamma. From childhood, Venu and Radha grow up as close companions, and Radha wishes to marry him. However, Seshu, Raja Rao’s debauched nephew, schemes to wed Radha but is denied, leaving him envious. Gopala Rao, Raja Rao’s close confidant and a chief engineer, lives with his daughter Indira and his nephew Bhaskar. One day, Gopala Rao proposes Radha’s marriage to Bhaskar. Radha, however, confesses her love to Venu, but he declines, as his dream is to become an engineer and marriage would hinder his ambitions. Thus, Radha marries Bhaskar. With her support, Venu pursues higher studies under Gopala Rao’s guidance. Meanwhile, Indira develops feelings for Venu, though he maintains his distance. Bhaskar ventures into construction and secures the prestigious “Sagar Dam” contract.
Seshu seizes the opportunity, trapping Bhaskar through his mistress Vani and luring him into vices. He swindles Bhaskar’s wealth and takes control of his business, leaving Radha devastated and in grief. Time passes, and Venu emerges as a meritorious engineer, eventually becoming chief engineer of the Sagar Dam project. He exposes Seshu’s fraudulent and faulty construction, withholding payments. Misled, Bhaskar accuses Venu of betrayal, but Radha learns the truth and supports Venu’s righteousness. Venu insists Radha stand by her husband, while Gopala Rao proposes Indira’s marriage to Venu. Venu agrees only if the project funds are covered, but Indira instead provides the money as a friend, refusing a forced marriage. Meanwhile, Seshu slanders Venu and Radha’s bond, provoking Bhaskar to assault and expel Venu. Later, Vani reveals Bhaskar’s folly, and he repents. In rage, Seshu plots to blow up the bridge, but Venu bravely saves it at the risk of his life. At last, Radha herself arranges Venu’s betrothal to Indira. Finally, the movie ends happily.
