Tilotamma Story
Deva Datta, son of a florist, Haridas, falls for a court dancer, Vasantha Sena. Once, while he is asleep, an angel, Tilottama, entices and lifts him together. Chandrakanth, who lures her, senses it. So, she backs Deva Datta by associating with her doppelganger Tilottama on earth, daughter of King Soorasena, by giving him a ring. Princess Tilottama also crushes and covertly knits Deva Datta, and she conceives. Deva Datta wishes to meet Angel Tilottama one night and reaches her. Chandrakanth catches them red-handed and curses them into being hunters who are oblivious to their past. Besides, Haridas and Vasantha are in quest of Deva Datta, and Princess Tilottama feels sorrow that knows no bounds. So Soorasena announces rewards to those who fetch him. Deva Datta’s mate, Ganapati, views it and notifies Vasantha, and she gains a post as a musician in the fort. The chief commander, Vijaya Simha, lusts for her, which she denies. So, he attempts to snatch her, but accidentally, his men seize Tilottama and dump her in the forest, where she gives birth to a baby boy. Fortuitously, Haridas secures her.
Parallelly, Deva Datta and Angel Tilottama lead a jollity life as hunters. Vasantha must pay the death penalty for the abduction scheme of the princess and is dragged to the forest for execution, where Deva Datta shields her. He cannot detect her due to the curse and moves ruthlessly. Meanwhile, Angel Tilottama is banned from religious rituals since she is childless. Being peeved, she consults a sorceress who suggests she offer a child to Kaali for progeny. Tilottama prevails over her husband, and Deva Datta steals his kid from Princess Tilottama. Hereupon, she chases him, and Vasantha and Haridas follow them. They all approach the temple and try to bar the sacrifice but are goaded to it. At last, Kaali appears to Princess Tilottama’s idolatry, retrieves her child, and relieves Deva Datta and Angel Tilottama. Finally, the movie ends happily, with the Goddess blessing everyone.
