Aardhana Story
Dr. Murali Krishna, an introvert, aspires to study abroad as his mother’s last wish. Appreciating his dedication, the medical college principal, V. R. Rao, approves a scholarship. During this time, Murali falls in love with fellow medical student Anuradha. Sarala, who secretly loves Murali, grows jealous and writes a love letter to Anuradha in Murali’s name. This angers Anuradha, who complains to Rao, resulting in Murali losing his scholarship. Humiliated, Murali returns to his village. His father, Gopalam, decides to send him abroad at any cost and approaches crafty, wealthy Lingaiah, who agrees to fund Murali’s education on the condition that Murali marries his daughter Lakshmi. Helpless, Gopalam accepts, and Murali departs. Later, Dr. Saradhi, Murali’s close friend, scolds Anuradha, while Sarala repents and admits her mistake. Anuradha realizes her feelings for Murali, but fate complicates matters when Lingaiah is revealed to be her paternal uncle. He proposes Murali’s marriage with Lakshmi and entrusts Anuradha with transforming his daughter into a fashionable young lady. Though heartbroken, Anuradha accepts the responsibility. Meanwhile, Gopalam informs Murali of the promise to Lingaiah and instructs him to write to Lakshmi through Anuradha’s address. Lakshmi, however, falls for her cousin Yoganandam in the city and neglects Murali. At this point, Anuradha begins replying to Murali’s letters on Lakshmi’s behalf, and the two grow close.
Tragedy strikes when Murali loses his eyesight in an accident. Lingaiah cancels the match, and everyone abandons Murali. After his return, Anuradha tends to him out of love, disguising herself as Lakshmi. Later, Rao and Saradhi arrange surgery to restore Murali’s sight. Meanwhile, Lakshmi discovers Murali and Anuradha’s bond, accuses them, and elopes with Yoganandam, though Lingaiah forcibly brings her back. After the surgery, Anuradha disappears, letting Lakshmi take her place. However, Murali senses the truth, grows upset with Lakshmi, and loses his recovered sight once more. With Lingaiah and Saradhi’s persuasion, Anuradha returns, and Murali regains his vision. Learning the full truth, he finally embraces Anuradha. The film concludes happily with the marriages of Murali and Anuradha, and Yoganandam and Lakshmi.
