Aatmiyulu Story
The film begins in a village where Veeraiah, a staunch man, sacrifices his life while guarding his owner, Jaganadham, a wealthy landlord. Thereafter, Jaganadham decides to maintain Veeraiah’s family and leaves for the city on the advice of his elder brother, Barrister Raja Rao. Veeraiah has a son and daughter, Suryam and Seeta, while his wife dies giving birth to a baby girl. Veeraiah’s sly sister Mahankali sells the baby to a couple, Chidambaram and Nancharamma, who name her Saroja. Mahankali also snatches the money given by Jaganadham and uses it to educate her son Chittibabu, while slighting Suryam and Seeta. Anguished, Suryam leaves for the city with Seeta and begins working in a hotel. Years pass, and through hard work, Suryam becomes meritorious, topping the university. Meanwhile, Jaganadham thrives as a business tycoon, while his son Chandram is a dullard who falls into the clutches of the vicious Sadanandam. Chittibabu and Saroja, Suryam’s estranged siblings, also befriend Chandram. Saroja aspires to an elite lifestyle and dreams of marrying wealthy, while Chittibabu, who loves her deeply, pretends to be affluent and squanders money that his mother earns.
Later, Jaganadham recognizes Suryam and Seeta and brings them to his house, where Raja Rao’s daughter Jaya falls in love with Suryam. Impressed by Seeta’s character, Jaganadham pairs her with Chandram. Meanwhile, Chandram exposes Chittibabu’s pretensions and wins Saroja’s love. However, Jaganadham forcibly marries Seeta to Chandram, which Raja Rao dislikes, opposing Suryam and Jaya’s love. Suryam leaves for police training, and during this time Seeta becomes pregnant. Sadanandam sets his evil eye on Saroja, tarnishing her reputation. Unfortunately, Seeta suffers a miscarriage, and Saroja, a nurse, attends to her. Chandram explains the circumstances of his marriage with Seeta, but an anguished Seeta blames Saroja, who also loses her job. Angered, Chandram resolves to marry Saroja, and Seeta agrees. When Suryam returns as a police officer, he tries to caution Saroja, only to realize she is his long-lost sister. Though Saroja rejoices, she refuses to reveal her identity. Suryam then seeks to marry her to Chittibabu, but Mahankali opposes. Despite obstructions from Sadanandam and Chandram, Suryam bravely faces the challenges. At last, the truth emerges, and even Raja Rao appreciates Suryam’s honesty. Finally, the movie ends happily with the marriages of Suryam and Jaya, and Chittibabu and Saroja.
