Gruhalakshmi Story
Srinivasa Rao (Chitti) is a law student whose father, Bhagavatam, is orthodox and superstitious. Chitti marries the noble Lakshmi, who meticulously cares for her in-laws and family. However, Bhagavatam does not permit the couple to spend time together, as it coincides with Chitti’s exam period. Distressed, Chitti plans to celebrate his honeymoon with the help of his brother-in-law Vaali and sends a fake telegram claiming Lakshmi’s mother is ill. Chitti then takes Lakshmi to a small hotel, while Vaali returns to his hometown to conceal the truth from the family.
At the hotel, Lakshmi and Chitti face many unforeseen incidents. The manager and staff suspect them of being an eloping couple, and Chitti even loses his purse while trying to evade his father’s assistant. Meanwhile, fate turns against them when Vaali meets with an accident and is brought to the city, exposing their drama. Unable to pay the hotel bill, Chitti and Lakshmi flee and return home, where Chitti is shocked to see his in-laws present. Bhagavatam scolds Chitti, but his wife points out that his rigid discipline caused all the mishaps. At last, Bhagavatam realizes his mistake and allows the couple to unite. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note.
