Kula Gotaralu Story
The film begins in a village where Zamindar Bhushayya holds high esteem and strictly adheres to caste and clan traditions. He lives with his wife, Shantamma, two daughters, Jagadamba and Leela, and a son, Ravi. Since Jagadamba is the daughter of his first wife, she always resents the family, and her idle husband Sadanandam also lives with them. Ravi moves to the city for higher studies, where he falls in love with a medical student, Saroja. He soon learns that Saroja’s mother, Kanthamma, was betrayed by an impostor named Chalapati, which led to their ostracization by society. Nevertheless, Ravi courageously marries Saroja against Bhushayya’s wishes, and as a result, Bhushayya ostracizes him. Later, Ravi becomes a Police Officer, and fate brings him back to his hometown, where he resides as a neighbor to their family friend Ramanayya. Bhushayya fixes a prosperous alliance for Leela, but it is called off upon learning of Ravi’s marriage. To save face, Bhushayya arranges Leela’s marriage with Ramanayya’s elder brother’s son, Joga Rao. Exploiting the situation, Jagadamba and Sadanandam create a rift between Ravi and Bhushayya.
Meanwhile, Shantamma becomes terminally ill and requests Bhushayya to call Ravi. However, Sadanandam deceives her by falsely claiming Ravi refused, leading to her death. Enraged, Bhushayya bans Ravi from attending the funeral. Time passes, and Saroja gives birth to a baby boy. Bhushayya, touched by love for his grandson, secretly visits to bless the child. Learning of this, Jagadamba and Sadanandam conspire with Chalapati, now a burglar. Unfortunately, Chalapati double-crosses Sadanandam and plans a robbery. Sensing danger, Ravi rushes in with Saroja. In the ensuing combat, Saroja strikes down her own father to protect her in-laws, which makes Bhushayya realize her virtue. Eventually, Jagadamba and Sadanandam also repent for their misdeeds. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the reunion of the family.
