Manasu Mangalyam Story
The film begins with Ravi, a poet who suffers from impoverishment. In childhood, Ravi detached from his elder sister, Seeta, and younger brother, Madhu. Currently, his only source of support is his friend, Shekar. He cannot pay the rent and hides from his house owner, Perumalaiah. Perumalaiah lives with his wife, Aandallu, and son, Kavi Kulashekara, but sadly, their daughter Amrutha has eloped. One night, a woman named Manjula, while escaping from the Police, lands in Ravi’s room, and everyone assumes she is his wife. From there, a strange relationship arises between them. Manjula publishes his literary work and molds him into a famous poet, and Ravi falls in love with her. Tragically, Seeta grows up as a courtesan as Mumtaz rears Madhu without revealing her profession. Later, Manjula suddenly disappears, and Ravi becomes an alcoholic and drifts to Mehdi, where Mumtaz recognizes him but remains silent.
Meanwhile, Kavi Kulashekara felicitates Ravi, with Murthy, an industrialist, attending as the chief guest. Ravi is startled to see Manjula as Murthy’s wife. Soon after, she approaches Ravi, who demands the truth, and she reveals her past. Manjula is the granddaughter of a tycoon, Parandhamaiah, for whom Murthy was the manager. He gained his trust and married her, but later she discovered his hellish deeds, including hoodwinking a girl—none other than Amrutha. She also spotted his attempt to slay Amrutha, from which Shekar protected her. Hence, Manjula evaded and took shelter with Ravi, and her return was only due to Parandhamaiah’s death. Ravi and Manjula vow to provide Amrutha justice by exposing Murthy, with Shekar helping them. Meanwhile, Manjula’s younger sister, Sarala, loves Madhu. The two uncover Seeta/Mumtaz’s dark shade but eventually recognize her virtue. Still, Sarala denounces Madhu, which enrages him, and Murthy provokes further discord. Both Murthy and Madhu scheme to blast Manjula’s factory, but Ravi thwarts them. At last, Mumtaz arrives and reveals their sibling bond, while Amrutha protects Murthy, who repents. In the end, Murthy accepts Amrutha, divorcing Manjula. Ravi unites Madhu and Sarala. Finally, the movie ends happily with Ravi continuing his journey in Manjula’s company.
