Kalimilemulu Story
The film begins in a village where Ramaiah, a potter, lives with his wife Manikyamba and his younger brother Raju, who adores his elder brother and sister-in-law as parents. Raju falls for his maternal uncle Subbaiah’s daughter, Vimala, and a cordial relationship flourishes between the two families, leading to their engagement. Later, Raju goes to town for higher education. Meanwhile, Subbaiah plans to start a factory and borrows money from the stingy loan shark Shavukar Narsaiah, with Ramaiah as guarantor. Initially, the venture succeeds, and even Narsaiah allies with them. During this time, Raju returns and, with his brother’s support, establishes a cottage industry. However, Narsaiah seizes it under the guise of repayment, which leads to Ramaiah’s untimely death.
After a while, Subbaiah moves forward with Raju and Vimala’s marriage proposal but insists the groom must be matrilocal. Though Manikyamba agrees, Raju refuses. Meanwhile, Narsaiah appoints his son Raja Shekaram as the factory manager, who mistreats the laborers until they resign in protest. Raju then starts a new industry by gathering the workers. In retaliation, Subbaiah declares Vimala’s marriage with Raja Shekaram. Parallelly, Narsaiah plots to destroy Raju’s factory. Overhearing this, Vimala rushes to Manikyamba, and together they intervene at the factory. At last, Raju defends it, defeats the villains, and Subbaiah reforms. Finally, the movie ends happily with the marriage of Raju and Vimala.
