Oorantha Sankranthi Story
The film begins in a village where the President, Raghavaiah, lives with his wife, Bhanumati, and two sons, Venu and Gopi. Since the elder Venu is the progeny of the first wife, Bhanumati looks down on him. Parallelly, Kotaiah, the sly brother-in-law of Raghavaiah, resides with them. Gopi loves his daughter Satya, while Venu falls for a peasant girl, Durga. Meanwhile, the government sanctions ₹50,000 to the village panchayat, which Kotaiah snatches by threatening the Gumustha Ranga Rao and forcing Raghavaiah to resign. Later, with his deceit, Kotaiah becomes the President and turns into a tyrant, while Venu stands as a barrier. So, Kotaiah creates a rift through Venu’s love affair, which Raghavaiah opposes. Hurt, Venu leaves home but, with Gopi’s support, marries Durga.
After a while, Kotaiah schemes to build a hospital by evicting the poor hamlet for his selfish gain. Raghavaiah resists him but is humiliated. At that moment, Venu protects his father, who then realizes his son’s virtue and reconciles with him. Now, Kotaiah manipulates Gopi, creating enmity between the siblings, which ultimately leads to Raghavaiah’s death. Eventually, Gumustha Ranga Rao returns, and Venu warns him. Exploiting the moment, Kotaiah kills him and incriminates Venu. Realizing the truth, Gopi protects his brother, and together, the two defeat the villains. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note, with the family reunited at the marriage of Gopi and Satya.
