SP Bhayankar Story
The film begins in a town where Father James, a Catholic priest, is held in high esteem. George Bhayankar, a justice-seeking ruffian, often clashes with the wealthy and corrupt, while Father James tries to temper his anger. Conflict arises when Bhayankar locks horns with Parishudham, the powerful tycoon of the town. Meanwhile, Bhayankar’s sister, Mary, is in love with Johnny, Parishudham’s son. Since Bhayankar despises the rich, Mary seeks Father’s help. However, Johnny leaves abroad, and Mary becomes pregnant, confiding in Father James. Bhayankar’s beloved, Lakshmi, overhears their conversation and misinterprets it, leading her to believe Father is the culprit. Furious, Bhayankar turns against Father, who is soon arrested but manages to escape. The following day, the town is shocked to find Mary hanging lifeless from a tree. Believing it to be suicide, the villagers bury her without a postmortem. Suspicious, Father secretly contacts his twin brother, SP John Yugandhar, a fearless police officer, and requests him to exhume Mary’s body. To everyone’s horror, Father James’s corpse is discovered inside the coffin, and suspicion falls upon Bhayankar.
SP Yugandhar launches an investigation, locking horns with Bhayankar, with both trying to outwit each other. Eventually, through Mary’s friend Mumtaz, Bhayankar learns the truth and regrets his actions. Meanwhile, SP masquerades as Father’s ghost to terrify the guilty and unravel the mystery. Together, SP and Bhayankar discover Johnny in captivity, who reveals that Mary’s death was not suicide but murder. In a shocking twist, Johnny is fatally shot by a veiled assailant. The killer is unmasked as Parishudham himself, who murdered Mary because he despised the idea of her marrying his son. When Father James discovered this, Parishudham killed him as well to hide his crime. In the climax, SP and Bhayankar unite to bring Parishudham to justice, ending the saga of betrayal, tragedy, and retribution.
