Mooga Nomu Story
The film begins at Ratnagiri with Zamindar Rao Bahadur Raja Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Gopalam and his only heir, Venu. Gauri, the daughter of peasant Somaiah, falls in love with Venu, and they secretly marry in a temple. During Venu’s absence, the Zamindar learns of it and compels Gauri to swear an oath to leave Venu, which she accepts out of gratitude. However, she is already pregnant. Facing humiliation and disputes, Gauri leaves the town with her father. Later, she delivers a baby boy, whom Somaiah abandons at an orphanage, falsely declaring the child dead. Meanwhile, Venu returns, but misinformation leads him to believe that Gauri has led an immoral life. Heartbroken, he becomes a wanderer and alcoholic. Eight years later, Venu and Gauri’s son Gopi grows into an intelligent boy at the orphanage. By fate, Gauri becomes a teacher at the same school and showers him with motherly affection. During an annual day celebration, Venu visits the orphanage, becomes fond of Gopi, and unknowingly encounters Gauri again. He orders her dismissal but later adopts Gopi due to his bond with the boy, gradually abandoning his vices.
In time, Sowkar Subbaiah, a wealthy man, proposes the marriage of his daughter Rajani to Venu. Venu agrees, as he promised Gopi a mother. Meanwhile, a terminally ill Somaiah confesses to Gauri about his deception, revealing Gopi as her child. Gauri desperately searches for him but unexpectedly reunites with Gopi and is overjoyed to learn Venu has been raising him. Gauri remains silent about the truth upon hearing of Venu’s impending marriage. During the wedding, Rajani quarrels with Gopi, causing turmoil. Disheartened, Gopi rejects her and goes in search of Gauri. Somaiah and Gauri attempt to leave with him, but Venu intercepts them. When Gauri demands recognition of her child, Venu insults her, but she endures in silence. At last, the Zamindar collapses, moved by Gauri’s stoicism. He reveals the truth, apologizes to everyone, and accepts her. Finally, the movie ends happily with Gopi reuniting his parents.
