Pooja Phalam Story

Zamindar Madhu is very gullible, and everyone mocks him. Once, he becomes acquainted with Vasanthi, who stays in a portion of his house. Vasanthi is friendly with Madhu, which he misinterprets as love, though she treats him as a brother. Meanwhile, Madhu proceeds for higher studies, where he befriends Sriram. He makes several attempts to contact Vasanthi and eagerly waits for her reply. Soon after his return, he finds that Vasanthi and her family have left the city, with their whereabouts unknown. Madhu discovers a letter revealing Vasanthi’s true feelings, which deeply haunts him. During this plight, Seeta, the daughter of his manager Rama Krishnaiah, consoles and supports him, and Madhu begins to endear her. Parallelly, Govindaiah, a coparcener to Madhu’s grandfather, files a case in court claiming property rights, leading to the mansion being withheld until judgment. Forced to leave his home, Madhu is sheltered by Rama Krishnaiah.

After a while, Madhu is on the verge of winning the case, so the sly Govindaiah plots to kill him. In the accident, Madhu survives but loses his memory. Sriram, now a mental specialist, makes serious efforts to restore his friend’s memory but fails. Eventually, Madhu triumphs over Govindaiah, who is seized. Madhu returns to his mansion, where faint memories of Vasanthi resurface. Meanwhile, Sriram and Rama Krishnaiah search for her, and favorably, she has become Sriram’s wife. At last, through Vasanthi’s presence, Sriram helps Madhu regain his sanity. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Madhu and Seeta.
