Punarjanma Story
Gopi, the son of a Zamindar, is a sculptor who becomes passionate about a statue of his “dream girl.” Unfortunately, the statue catches fire and burns, leaving Gopi mentally shattered. Before this rift, Gopi had been in love with his cousin Vasanthi, but Vasanthi’s mother, Yasoda Devi, breaks off the proposal. A doctor realizes that music may help Gopi and advises appointing a beautiful girl skilled in dance and music as his caretaker. Following this, the Zamindar brings Radha, a lovely girl from a Kothi, to care for Gopi. Though born into a family of courtesans, Radha has no interest in that life and longs for a traditional family. She serves Gopi with devotion, striving to restore his sanity.
One day, while Radha is playing with children in a mock marriage ritual (Bommala Pelli), Gopi suddenly ties his late mother’s wedding chain (Mangalsutra) around Radha’s neck. Recognizing Radha’s virtues, the Zamindar and his mother accept this new bond. Under Radha’s care, Gopi gradually regains his sanity but forgets Radha and rekindles his love for Vasanthi. Crestfallen, Radha leaves the house and resumes life as an entertainer. Meanwhile, Gopi grows restless as vague memories of Radha haunt him. When Vasanthi reveals the truth, he rushes to Radha. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the reunion of Gopi and Radha.
