Ramudu Kadu Krishnudu Story

Ramu, an introvert, is the son of millionaire Bahadoor Appa Rao, who adheres strictly to family prestige. He is surrounded by his sly maternal uncle, Gopal Rao, and his family, who aim to usurp his wealth. The only one who showers motherly affection on him is his sister-in-law Varalamma, the widow of his elder brother. Here, Ramu falls for a destitute girl, Sarada, but obeying his father’s behest, he abandons her and prepares to marry Gopal Rao’s daughter, Jayamma. Indeed, Jayamma has an affair with her second cousin, Giri, and even conceives, which Varalamma discovers. Whereupon, Gopal Rao ploys to defame Ramu by attributing scandal to his bond with Varalamma, causing her to leave with the children. Following this, Ramu also departs, relinquishing his property. Next, Gopal Rao schemes to bankrupt Appa Rao and imprisons him by declaring him insane.

Parallelly, Krishna, the sagacious younger son of Appa Rao, lives with his mother Lakshmi and loves a girl named Satya. Once, he encounters Ramu, when Lakshmi recalls the past—due to Gopal Rao’s wiles, Appa Rao had ostracized her while pregnant. Meanwhile, Krishna reunites the fragmented family, bringing back Sarada, Varalamma, and even rescuing Appa Rao, who had absconded and lost his lands. Now, Krishna, with his intelligence, defeats the conspirators. At last, he proclaims that “the smartness of Krishna is more essential today than Rama’s righteousness.” Finally, the film ends happily with the marriages of Ramu and Sarada, and Krishna and Satya.
