Ratnamala Story
Ruled by Simhakethu, who endeared his only daughter, Ratnamala. He is currently in the hunt for a bridegroom. Meanwhile, in Sonapuram, its king Chandrachuda is blessed with a son, though astrologers foresee a curse of death for newborns on the 16th day. They also proclaim that it can be unraveled only by a conjugal baby to a 16-year-old girl before time. Ergo, his Chief Minister Buddisagar quests for the bride and approaches Simhakethu, forging an alliance with his son’s patriot, whom Ratnamala accepts. Following this, Buddisagar counterfeits and performs nuptials with the sword, despite the refusal of Simhakethu’s nephew, Dhoomakethu. Soon after, Ratnamala walks to her in-laws’ house, accompanying Dhoomakethu, where the fact is revealed. Hereupon, they state that the entire act is God’s will and endorse her baby husband Chandrakantha to her. At midnight, devastated Ratnamala sets out to a secluded forest, shouldering her husband to raise him as a son, where she is sheltered by an elderly couple. Being conscious of deceit, furious Simhakethu imprisons Chandrachuda, Buddisagar, and his son, and assigns Dhoomakethu to find Ratnamala’s whereabouts.
After 7 years, Chandrakantha, while grazing cattle, is abducted by tribes for a blood sacrifice but escapes. Agitated, Ratnamala rushes, when Dhoomakethu spots her and compels her to return home, which she denies. So, he uses force, but a bandit gang suddenly backstabs him, capturing Ratnamala, and their leader lusts for her. Noticing her affection for the child, the leader clutches Chandrakantha to threaten her, but in vain. Simultaneously, Dhoomakethu onslaughts, shields them, and proceeds to Kanchipuram. Therein, Simhakethu suspects Ratnamala’s chastity, assuming Chandrakantha is her son, and declares the death penalty. All at once, Ratnamala is led to execution, when the elderly couple astonishingly appears as [[Siva]] and [[Parvati]], confirming her eminence. Buddisagar’s son in prison also divulges the truth. At last, they bless Ratnamala with a boon, transforming Chandrakantha into a youngster. Finally, the movie ends happily with the marriage of Chandrakantha and Ratnamala.
