Siri Sampadalu Story
The film begins in a village, Sitanagaram, ruled by Zamindar Raghupati Naidu. He has two children, Jagapati Naidu and Parvati. Chakradhar, his son-in-law, resides in matrilocality and lives happily at their residence, Ananda Nilayam. The couple has a son, Prasad, while Parvati dotes on her brother’s three motherless infants—Padma, Latha, and Rama. Prasad and Padma share camaraderie from childhood, and the elders announce their marriage. However, Raghupati Naidu’s family is traditionally accustomed to exclusive charity. Chakradhar always opposes this, and a rift arises between them. When his self-respect suffers, Chakradhar decides to leave, but Raghupati Naidu stops him, and in the ensuing struggle, Naidu dies accidentally. Jagapati Naidu blames Chakradhar, cuts ties with Parvati, and distances himself. Chakradhar dies under guilt, and Jagapati admits his nieces into a city hostel. Years pass, and Jagapati continues his father’s legacy, falling into debts with loan shark Bhujangam while also being manipulated by his sly manager Garataiah. Meanwhile, in town, Jagapati’s daughters earn a good reputation. Latha falls in love with Madhu, Bhujangam’s son, while Garataiah’s son, Anand Kumar (AK Mar), an amateur detective, is their friend. Destiny makes Prasad a close friend of Madhu and Anand, through whom he reunites with his cousins. When he invites them home, Parvati recognizes them. While Padma and Latha are cordial, Rama resents the bond. Nevertheless, Prasad and Padma fall in love. Jagapati warns Parvati about the lack of real ties, prompting her to distance them, and Prasad honors his mother’s word.
Meanwhile, Bhujangam plans to seize Jagapati’s property. To preserve his honor, Jagapati attempts to sell the family jewelry, but Garataiah has already stolen it. In this crisis, Padma reveals Latha and Madhu’s love, and Jagapati proceeds with the alliance. Bhujangam humiliates him, leading Jagapati to strike him, for which he is penalized, and his assets are seized. Prasad intervenes, regains the property, and secretly supports his cousins, though they refuse direct help. Suspecting Garataiah’s theft, Prasad entrusts Anand with uncovering the truth. Meanwhile, Bhujangam tries to force Madhu into marriage with Kondamma, daughter of wealthy Panakala Rao. Heartbroken, Latha falls ill and is hospitalized. With Prasad’s plan, Madhu pretends to be insane and gets admitted there, diverting the marriage toward Anand, who weds Kondamma. Through Madhu, the sisters learn the truth, but Bhujangam abducts him. Later, Anand exposes his father’s schemes, and Garataiah, frightened, attempts to sell the jewelry to Bhujangam, who double-crosses him. Anand rushes to intervene, while Prasad confronts Bhujangam and discovers the jewelry. In the struggle, Bhujangam mistakenly injures Anand. Prasad saves and hides him with Madhu, then reappears in disguise as “Atmaram” to haunt Bhujangam and Garataiah. Finally, Jagapati reconciles with Parvati, and Prasad reunites the family at Ananda Nilayam, exposing the truth. Jagapati blesses the union of Prasad and Padma, while Bhujangam repents and requests Jagapati to accept Madhu as his son-in-law. The movie ends happily with the marriages of Prasad and Padma, and Madhu and Latha.
