Thodi Kodallu Story
Thodi Kodallu is a family drama adapted from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Bengali novel Nishkriti. The story revolves around two families living together in a traditional joint household. Akkineni Nageswara Rao plays the role of a well-meaning but sensitive young man caught in the conflicts that arise between the daughters-in-law (kodallu) of the family. The household, once peaceful, begins to fracture due to misunderstandings, jealousy, and small quarrels, gradually leading to bitterness.
The film sensitively portrays how ego and lack of understanding create rifts in close-knit families. Through the struggles of the women and the emotional turmoil of the men, it highlights the need for tolerance, love, and compromise. In the end, the family members realize their mistakes and reconcile, reaffirming the values of unity and harmony in family life. With strong performances by ANR and Savitri, the film became known for its realistic portrayal of joint family issues.
